At the heart of every Turpai piece is Chikankari, a centuries-old hand-embroidery tradition from the historic city of Lucknow, India. Popularized in the 17th century by Empress Nur Jahan, this art form has been refined for over 400 years

We named ourselves Turpai after the traditional hem stitch-a small, often invisible thread that holds an entire garment together. To us, it represents our core philosophy: that the most vital elements of a masterpiece are the ones you might not immediately see. It is the silent labor, the years of training, and the thousands of tiny, disciplined breaths taken by an artisan that create true luxury.
